After Chess in the early 1990’s and Go last year, Humans and machines have elected a new battleground to compete with each other: Poker. Libratus, a program developed by a group of American researchers from the University of Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh, PA), will defy 4 professional players from January 11thto January 30thin games of “Heads Up No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker”.
This event actually stands as a re-match for Carnegie Mellon who’s previous similar program named Claudico lost its battle against our fellow humans back in 2015. So far, Libratus is ahead in 3 out of 4 duels, and has an advance of $150k against the “Brain” team.
